Most people come to Rishikesh for yoga and leave with a tan and some Instagram photos. The 100-hour immersion at Yoga Vedanta Trust is different. It is a doorway into the living tradition of Himalayan yoga — the kind that has been passed teacher to student in ashrams for thousands of years.
Over 14 days you will practise Hatha yoga asanas with deep anatomical awareness, learn the pranayama techniques that shift your nervous system, sit in guided meditation beside the Ganga, and study the philosophy that makes sense of it all. You will return home changed — not better, not worse. Clearer.
The oldest continuous yoga teaching tradition in Rishikesh — your school is its neighbour.
Every morning meditation, every evening aarti — the river is your constant companion and teacher.
The Himalayan energy is real. Students consistently describe a stillness here that is impossible to find elsewhere.
The quietest, most sacred part of Rishikesh. No vehicles. Only the river, the ashrams, the bells.
Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) is 30 minutes away. Delhi is 6 hours by train or overnight bus. We will pick you up.
Unlike beach yoga destinations, Rishikesh has a stable climate. We run courses year-round in comfortable conditions.
All prices are all-inclusive — accommodation, meals, materials, certificate. No hidden costs. A $100 deposit secures your place.
Honest, detailed answers to the questions beginners ask before committing two weeks in Rishikesh.
This is the single most common question we get from people considering this program, and the honest answer depends entirely on your goal. The 100-hour immersion does not qualify you as a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) — that credential requires a minimum of 200 hours. So if your goal is to teach professionally, the 100-hour course is not a shortcut to that — you will eventually need the 200-hour program.
Where the 100-hour immersion genuinely excels is as a lower-commitment way to experience an authentic ashram-style training before committing a full month and the higher cost of the 200-hour program. It's also ideal for travellers with limited time, practitioners who want a deep personal-practice reset rather than a teaching credential, and complete beginners who want to "test the waters" of intensive yogic living before deciding if the 200-hour path is right for them.
In practice, roughly a third of our 100-hour graduates return within the year to complete their 200-hour certification — the immersion gives them enough of a taste of the daily rhythm to know it's the right fit, and the foundation it builds (asana basics, philosophy introduction, pranayama fundamentals) meaningfully shortens the learning curve in the 200-hour program.
Short-format yoga immersions in Rishikesh (typically 10–14 days) range from roughly $350 to $900 USD depending on accommodation standard and what's included. At Yoga Vedanta Trust, the 100-hour immersion starts at $450 USD, fully inclusive of shared accommodation, three sattvic vegetarian meals daily, all study materials and yoga props, and a completion certificate — with no additional fees added at the ashram.
Compare this to standalone yoga retreats of similar length, which often charge a similar price for far less structured instruction — typically just daily group classes without the anatomy, philosophy, and teaching-methodology curriculum included here. The 100-hour immersion sits between a retreat and a full teacher training: structured enough to genuinely deepen your practice, short enough to fit into a two-week holiday.
The 100-hour immersion is specifically structured to welcome complete beginners — in most batches, beginners outnumber experienced practitioners. The first few days focus entirely on foundational alignment, breath awareness, and building body confidence before any advanced postures are introduced. Teachers offer modifications for every posture, and the small batch size (max 15 students) means you receive individual correction rather than being lost in a large group.
Physical flexibility is not a prerequisite — it is a result of consistent practice, not a starting requirement. What matters far more than flexibility is genuine curiosity and a willingness to show up for the early-morning schedule, which is itself part of the transformation many students describe.
